Nicholas Vena of Morristown, NJ, absolutely destroyed the Penn Relays record in the boys high school shot put. Vena got the ball out 72 feet, 2-1/2 inches (22.01 meters), almost five feet better than the old mark, set in 1985 by J.J. Grant of Liverpool, NY (67-3/20.50).

The Penn Relays are the largest annual track and field meet in the United States and the largest annual relay meet in the world. Over the course of three days, 19,000 athletes from all levels will race in front of 115,000 spectators. The 2010 Penn Relays will be from April 22-24.
