High School Boys’ Athlete of the Meet

Alwayne Green of Manchester (Jam.) has been named as the High School Boys’ Athlete of the Meet in Relay Events after leading his team to victory in the 4×800m relay with a come-from-behind final carry. His 1:53.0 split capped Manchester’s time of 7:43.22.

First up, the boys. Engineering & Science wins in 3:22.24, with North Penn second in 3:22.40. Results are posted here.
In the girls race Chester and West Catholic turned it into a two-team race, with Chester coming out ahead, 3:53.31—3:54.49. Results here.

Nicholas Vena of Morristown (NJ) High School is the High School Boys’ Athlete of the Meet for individual event for winning the shot put with a throw of 63-6 3/4, the ninth-best throw in Relays’ history. With his performance, Vena sets an all-time outdoor U.S. high school record for ninth graders.

Our next high school championship is the 4×800. Our top 5 qualifying teams are Hillsborough (NJ), Washington Township (NJ), Manchester (Jamaica), Albermarle (VA), and Kellenberg Memorial (NY). Hillsborough’s top seed time is 7:47.
Unofficially at the first handoff, its Jamaica College in 1:57.4. Many teams are in the mix at this point.
